Trauma and Crisis Services

Relationships Australia offers a range of services for victims of crisis, trauma or community disaster.

These services include:

  • individual or group crisis counselling sessions
  • crisis telephone line counselling
  • online counselling.

Relationships Australia also offers support services to individuals or organisations (such as police, emergency services workers and others) involved in dealing with disasters. These services include:

  • crisis and trauma counselling (individual and group sessions at work-sites, homes or at trauma site)
  • critical incident de-briefing
  • training for police, emergency services, crisis support workers to assist in a crisis or disaster
  • research and information to support crisis services to better respond to future events.

As well as responding to the immediate needs of victims and support workers in times of crisis, trauma or community disaster, Relationships Australia has an ongoing support role over time. Many victims of a crisis will not seek help in the short term, but may be referred to the organisation some months (or even years later) when relationship problems occur.
