Appointments for telephone counselling are necessary. Please call 1800 182 325 (country free call) to make an appointment. People who live in the Riverland area may wish to receive face-to-face counselling at our Berri office, at 9 Kay Avenue. Please contact the Berri office to make an appointment, on (08) 8582 4122.

What happens when you call?

  1. At the first call, our receptionist will determine which service would suit you best. It costs nothing to make the initial call to inquire about what services we offer.
  2. An appointment can be made for you to speak with one of our counsellors at a later time.
  3. At the agreed appointment time, your counsellor will be ready for your call and will be available to speak for an hour with you, or with you and your partner.
  4. The counsellors will be exclusively available to you for that hour and the phone call will be confidential.
  5. At the end of the session, you will be able to make another appointment with the same counsellor.
  6. There will be a negotiated fee for counselling time just as there is with people who come in person for counselling. Fees for counselling are set according to income and are negotiable. Some services are free.
  7. The counselling is confidential and provided by fully-qualified counsellors.

The service is NOT a crisis line. If the caller is in immediate need, every effort is made to connect the caller to an appropriate crisis service.
