Professional Training and Development
Relationships Australia provides accredited specialist training in counselling, family mediation and relationship management skills for professionals and human services workers.
Who can participate?
Trained counsellors, psychologists, social workers who have relationship therapy skills and want to improve and extend their skills through further specialist training.
These provide an opportunity for clinicians with appropriate training and experience to practise at Relationships Australia doing clinical work with appropriate supervision, and Internships are offered in some areas on a periodic basis to counsellors following training.
Professionals working in the welfare sector such as the law, medicine, nursing, corrections, community health, occupational therapy, psychology or social work use added theoretical and practical training in areas of relationships and mediation to assist their work in their area of speciality.
Professionals in the organisational field such as management, leadership roles, organisational and staff trainers, personnel consultants, managers, team leaders, supervisors and other business people can use our training programs or have training courses tailored to suit their needs.
Who are the trainers?
All trainers are specialists in their field of expertise and come from the field of relationship counselling and family mediation/family dispute resolution. They are mainly psychologists, family therapists, social workers and other professionals in the health and welfare field who have undertaken specialised, often post-graduate, training in couple or family therapy, and our mediator trainers come from either a social science or law background and have specialised family mediation training and accreditation.
