Family Safety Program - NSW
Resources to assist in family violence prevention in New South Wales
If you are experiencing violence, or perpetrating violence, or your children are experiencing violence - the Family Safety Program coordinates a range of services for both victims and perpetrators of family violence, child assaults, adolescent violence and elder abuse.
Services are designed to promote non-violent, respectful and caring relationships and include:
- support groups for female victims of violence (eg. Women: Choice and Change)
- 'Taking Responsibility' programs for male perpetrators
- individual, couple and family counselling
- assistance to children who experience violence (eg. Kidspace 8 week program).
The program maintains liaison with police, magistrates and community agencies to ensure a high degree of accountability in our services to perpetrators of violence.
Family Safety Program staff are highly skilled in intervening effectively in this extremely difficult area. Their role is to provide education, information, and therapeutic assistance.
