Australia’s highly respected voice on relationships, Relationships Australia, welcomes the Attorney- General’s announcement yesterday of the location of the first 15 Family Relationship Centres (FRCs). According to Relationships Australia National Director, Ms Mary Mertin-Ryan: “The 15 locations appear to have been well chosen to serve those communities most at need of relationship services while at the same time not neglecting the needs of regional Australia. There is a particularly good balance in the choice of locations between fast-growing urban areas and rural communities.”

The study highlights the effectiveness of the Child Inclusive Practice program in helping to reduce the likelihood of conflict even in traditionally high risk areas such as Contact Order Programs and where there has been violence within the family.
