Relationships Australia (RA) has been providing counselling services and support for almost 60 years.  Currently is seeking applications from an experienced caseworker to join our Referral for Active Intervention (RAI) service within the Townsville region.  This service provides support to children and their families who have experienced family and domestic violence.

The key responsibilities of this position include:

  • Provision of therapeutic interventions for children and their families, utilising a systemic and focussed approach.
  • Conducting client assessment and intake of client needs in order to make appropriate referrals, provide relevant information and make client appointments.
  • Development and implementation of case management plans for clients.
  • Design, delivery and documentation of education programs.
  • Maintenance of electronic diary system to enable effective and informed client bookings.

The successful applicant will have a relevant tertiary qualification in the behavioural or social sciences and previous experience in case management.  Experience in working with families in high conflict situations and an understanding of current theory and practice related to domestic violence is also essential.

An understanding of both adult and child learning principles and experience in delivering community education programs will also be highly regarded.

The successful applicant will receive a competitive salary package, circa $48,350, and generous salary packaging which significantly increases the value take home value of earnings is also available.
